Former French Football Star Florent Malouda Joins Army After Stellar Career with Lyon and Chelsea

Following an illustrious football ⁢career, he is dedicated to imparting the values of dedication and discipline to the youth of⁢ Guyana, working alongside the legionnaires of the 3rd‌ REI,” stated the Corps Commander of the⁣ Foreign Legion‌ in ⁤a post​ on X (formerly Twitter).

The citizen reserve program⁢ provides a platform for prominent individuals, including‍ artists and retired ​athletes, to support and promote the military’s values and missions⁢ without requiring ‌active‌ service. Malouda,a native of Cayenne,will be ‌stationed with the regiment in Kourou,located in ⁤the northern part ⁤of ⁣the department. ‌This move also symbolizes a homecoming​ for ​the former striker, who represented Guyana in international matches during the twilight of his career, reconnecting with his roots in a‌ meaningful way.
