The Arcieri Club Lido, led by President Messina, celebrated an exhilarating weekend as they clinched the top prize at the event held in the municipal gymnasium of Gallina, Reggio calabria.
Eight participants from the Catanzaro-based team secured podium finishes in the regional competition, which attracted athletes and squads from across Calabria.
Arcieri Club lido fielded eight archers, including two debutants who thoroughly enjoyed their first official competition, showcasing their skills with enthusiasm.
Among the standout performers were young archers Alessandro poerio Piterà and Lizzio Letizia, both aged just nine, who claimed gold medals in their respective barebow youth divisions.
The event also saw Francesco Poerio Piterà secure gold in the junior Olympic division with 582 points,while Anastasia Poerio Piterà triumphed in the junior compound category.Letizia Canino and Ludovica Fabio added to the team’s success with gold in the cadet and girls’ compound divisions, respectively. Edoardo Poerio Piterà claimed gold in the master barebow category, and Sofia Sgotto earned silver in the cadet Olympic division.
The highlight of the day came during the awards ceremony when the organizing committee presented the event trophy to the Arcieri Club Lido.
The top honors went to Francesco, Anastasia, and Edoardo Poerio Piterà, marking a historic family podium as Edoardo, the father and coach, stood alongside his children.
“I’m thrilled with our trip to reggio Calabria,” said coach Edoardo. “The results are impressive, but what truly stands out is the joy and simplicity of our young archers, Alessandro and Lizzio. Their debut was explosive and full of fun. The entire team performed exceptionally, always striving to give their best.”
