While‌ Josiane Lecomte is widely recognized for her‌ achievements in archery, she is now making waves in ‍the world of badminton with​ her sights set on global success.On January 12,the dedicated member of the Badminton Saint-Brieuc secular Association competed in⁣ the French parabadminton championships held⁤ in Gien.

“I returned with three ​silver medals in doubles, mixed doubles, ​adn singles.This is a significant ‌milestone for‌ me,‍ especially since I onyl began this sport three years ago,” she shared.

Aiming for the Olympic Stage

For Lecomte,this achievement⁢ is the culmination ⁤of months ⁣of rigorous training under the guidance of her coach,Pierre ⁣Guinnebault. “It’s also the result of years of physical transformation—I’ve lost 53 kg since I started this journey 36 months ago,” she added.

Lecomte ⁢is ⁣leaving​ no stone unturned in her pursuit of excellence.‌ She is actively working toward qualifying for the 2028 Paralympic Games in Los Angeles. “To reach this goal, I⁣ need to compete‍ internationally more frequently. That’s why I’m heading to⁢ Egypt this Monday, January 20, with the french team ⁣for the International Open. I’m also seeking sponsors and partners to help me achieve my dreams,” she explained.

josiane lecomte: Absolutely! I competed in the French Parabadminton Championships in Gien on January 12 and came home with three silver medals in doubles, mixed doubles, and singles. It’s a huge milestone for me, especially as I only started playing badminton three years ago.



Moderator: That’s phenomenal! To achieve such success in just three years is no small feat.What’s been the secret to your rapid progress?



josiane Lecomte: It’s been a combination of rigorous training, dedication, and incredible support from my coach, Pierre Guinnebault. I’ve also undergone a significant physical transformation, losing 53 kg over the past 36 months. That’s played a big role in my performance and overall confidence.



Moderator: Your journey is truly inspiring. Now, let’s talk about your ultimate goal: the 2028 Paralympic Games in Los Angeles. What steps are you taking to qualify?



Josiane Lecomte: My focus is on gaining more international experience. I’m heading to Egypt this Monday, January 20, to compete in the International Parabadminton Open with the French team.additionally, I’m actively seeking sponsors and partners to support my journey. Competing internationally is crucial for me to improve my ranking and secure a spot in the Paralympics.



Moderator: speaking of sponsorships, how challenging has it been to find support as a parabadminton athlete?



Josiane Lecomte: It’s been quite challenging, to be honest. Parabadminton doesn’t always get the same level of attention as other sports, but I’m hopeful that with more visibility and success, I’ll be able to attract sponsors who believe in my potential.
