Kramaric causes BVB home debacle – Gladbach reaches top class

For BVB, the last Bundesliga matchday was all about nothing – and the team showed that. The end of the season was a disgrace for the Favre team. Gladbach did much better.

Many games on the last Bundesliga matchday were all about nothing but better placement. Nevertheless, things were hot in the upper table regions. Overview of all games:

Borussia Mönchengladbach 2-1 Hertha BSC

The “foals” secured fourth place and the associated ticket for the Champions League. The team of coach Marco Rose won 1-0 against Hertha BSC. The first goal in the 7th minute scored Jonas Hofmann after presentation of Breel Embolo.

As a result, Gladbach was the better team, always came up with great opportunities, as by Patrick Herrmann in the 42nd minute. But the winger failed to Hertha goalkeeper Dennis Smarsch. Shortly before, Lars Stindl hit the post (41.). In the final quarter of an hour, Breel Embolo made the second Gladbach goal (78th) before Vedad Ibisevic reduced it for Hertha in added time. Borussia is now in the Champions League with 65 points.

Bayer Leverkusen 1-0 Mainz 05

The Werkself took the lead early on through Kevin Volland. The beefy striker scored after only two minutes. Leverkusen even scored 2-0 in the 67th minute – until the video referee intervened and took the goal back.

For Leverkusen, however, the win did not mean a ticket for the premier class. The team of coach Peter Bosz ended the season in fifth place.

Borussia Dortmund 0:4 – TSG Hoffenheim

An afternoon to forget for BVB. The home game against TSG Hoffenheim was a disgrace for the team of coach Lucien Favre. It was only one man who scored the goals for the Kraichgauer: Andrej Kramaric. The Croatian scored all four goals in the Signal Iduna Park.

In the 8th, 30th, 48th and 50th minute he was successful. BVB could even be thankful for not having lost even higher. Christoph Baumgartner (61.), for example, failed up close to Roman Bürki.

For Hoffenheim, the win meant sixth place. The TSG thus avoids the annoying qualification rounds in the Europa League.

FC Augsburg 1:2 RB Leipzig

Eintracht Frankfurt 3-2 SC Paderborn

Eintracht Frankfurt has struggled to an arduous work victory when SC Paderborn left the Bundesliga. The Hessians won 3-2 (2-0) on Saturday and ended the Corona season 2019/20 with 45 points as table bottom.

SC Freiburg 4: 0 Schalke 04

Schalke 04 takes its horror series into the summer break after another catastrophe kick. The helpless royal blue received a 0: 4 (0: 2) at SC Freiburg and have been waiting for a win for 16 games. Even before the match, it was clear that S04 had the weakest second half of its club history.

Luca Waldschmidt (20th and 57th), Jonathan Schmid (38th) and Lucas Höler (46th) met against Schalke for the SC that just failed to make it into the European Cup – they last celebrated a threesome on 17 January.

Despite the frightening record, David Wagner is likely to go into his second season as Schalke chief coach. Sports director Jochen Schneider, who signed him a year ago, continues to support his dream coach.
